It's coming on every now and then. Brakes seem to be working fine, no lockup on panic stops but the light will drive me nuts. Any ideas??

Going by the most three parts that fail most frequently on those abs systems from my experience I would first guess the rear ABS sensor then one of the two front sensors. You should have the code pulled and that will point you in the rite direction.

Good luck

Will it set a code if the light is not lit when I have it checked?

The front sensors are in the wheel bearing assembly so I'm leaning towards the rear as the WB are new.

yes it should have set a code. I know when my friends 00 F250 abs light came on it was the LF sensor that was bad but it was also activating the ABS when he would use the brakes at times.
