center console - how to fold?

I have a 96 crewcab and the front seat has a console. On occasion it will fold down. Other times it seems theres a lock on the drivers side. Is there a hidden release or some trick to getting it to fold down?

I am not sure about yours but mine has a strap that you pull to unlock it so that it will fold down. It is on the passenger side though.

My 96 doesn't seem to have a pull cable like that.

My 96 doesn't have a pull strap either. Sometimes it doesn't want to come down, but if I pull forward and back a couple of times it will fold down.

I have to do the same thing as "tjl". If I just show it a little love and get rough with it I get it to come down. I guess that would be why I don't raise it up anymore. :
