how hard is it to install Remote start and alarm

Hey Guys,

After the theft of my truck I want to put an alarm in my truck as well as a remote starter. Can any one tell me how hard it is to do? I am willing to tackle the install myself but I am wondering if it is worth it? Who has done an install before? What kind of problems cans one encounter?

I am looking at the compustar 2 way 2W9000fmr pro, what about the factory ford unit, is this a good model?
