Mild Excursion Power

hi there

I'm looking to buy a 04..ish Excursion with the 7.3 within the next month.

I'm a diesel virgin other than being a retired truck driver. A 26 year old retired driver that is. I have built several hot rods and I know my way around a old Chev 350 like the back of my hand.

I'm going to put a slight lift on it..skyjacker 2-4- or 6 ..not sure yet.
I would also like to add some extra mild HP I'm thinking 150 at most.
It will be the family truck, not for pulling anything, won't be in the mud but once a year if even. I just like to have a jump on the other guy with the stock engine at green lights basically.

could anyone recommend anything to add about 150 horse, like I said, I don't know diesel engines...

thanks for any help

Well, if it were mine -

MBRP cool duals ( I just like the looks of duals)

SCT tuner - (110hp)

Your choice of intakes -

Donaldson
AFE
AEM Bruteforce
Volant

Plan on doing a mild transmission upgrade next service -

Suncoast Tugger kit (shift kit)

Add some Amsoil and you'll have a clean sounding and running truck!

MBRP Doesn't make a dual kit for the excursion.

But i would still go with a MBRP or silverline exhaust kit
if it is a 7.3L with is wierd cause you stated it was a 04 which should make it a 6.0l i would go with a plug and play chip like the TS or Dp which can have from one to 16 programs if it is a 6.0l i would go with a custom tuned SCT. Youare also goign to want to do some gauges. Either way you shouldn't need any tranny work with that power increase. as long as you choose a programmer/chip that wil properly control the trans.

If it is a 7.3 w/ my mod's below I was able to get 312hp/567tq on the dyno yesterday. Not too bad for a fat girl, but I have a boost leak somewhere and running on B20, I think I might be able to get a little more out of her.

2K3 EXCURSION 7.3L 4x4 EDDIE BAUER 107K miles as of 06-13-07
AFE Stage II / 4" MBRP exhaust / DP-Tuner F5 (Stock, 60hp Tow, 80hp Econo, 120hp race & High Idle) / Quadzilla Commander/ATS Housing
Running homebrewed BioDiesel and custom SVO kit for 70k miles.
Misc. Mods: ZooDad/By-Pass Oil Filter/203* T-Stat/Coolant Filter/HPX/CCV Reroute/Tranny Filter/Foil Delete/Stereo Stuff/ITP Reg Return/Non-EBPV Pedistal and Exhaust Housing/Adjustable Waste Gate Controller/

"If you love your motorcycle, set it free. If it comes back to you it was probably a high-side."

I'LL TRY TO KEEP UP, BUT THE EXCURSION IS A BIG GIRL AND BIG GIRLS DON'T LIKE TO MOVE FAST.
