hydrogen anyone?

A friend of mine was telling me the other day about a company that is selling a build it yourself hydrogen fuelcell kit that will work on any vehicle gas or diesel to improve fuel economy and peformance all for $140. He said it consists of a hydrogen generator that turns water and bakeing soda (or something like that) into hydrogen which is plumed into your intake kind of like propain injection only its on all the time. He is wanting one of these kits for his powerstoke pitty bad but I'm reminded of the Hendenburg blimp. He said there was a group of about 20 people that built these things and only one of the generators had a complete meltdown and it didn't hurt the car tobad, that dosen't sound like very good odds to me. maybe if I had $140 burning a hole in my pocket and a junk car I'd try it, but I think if it was safe and practical these things would be everywhere.
Anyway I was just curious if anyone else had heard anything about this.

One of our Junior Fire Fighters was telling me that in one of his science classes in our High School they made something similar to what you are describing. They actualy installed it on the Ag. teachers OBS Power Stroke and according to the teacher his fuel milage increased by 4-5 miles per gallon.

I myself have been interested in finding out a little more about this ever since this student told me about this. He is supposed to be getting me directions on how they built it.

Interesting, i'm surprised we haven't heard a lot more about this. Seems like this could lower egt's also.
Anyone know how big the system is and how much?

Well I looked a little further, $3300. Looks like their kit is geared to large diesel trucks though.
