autometer LED bulbs

I fanally got my boost and pyro gages installed in my 96 F350 last week and I wasn't real happy with how my z-series gages matched my dash. So I ordered a pair of autometer LED light bulbs p#3285 through O'Reillys and they match the light from the fatory gages almost perfect and they are brighter than the regular bulbs Attachment 7796 The bulbs are made to replace the 193 and 194 stlye bulbs with no modifications, and I think they come in about 4 different colors So if anyone else is unhappy how there gages look at nite it cost about $20 for the 2 bulbs but it was well worth the money.

Shameless plug: ISSPRO also carries LED bulbs. The old part numbers are listed below. They have been recently changed to a different part number format, but the people who take phone orders (and our distributors) should be able to find them under these numbers:
RLED-10W = White T10 (194) $8.00
RLED-10B = Blue T10 (194) $8.00
RLED-10G = Green T10 (194) $8.00
RLED-5W = White T5 (74) $5.00
RLED-5B = Blue T5 (74) $5.00
RLED-5G = Green T5 (74) $5.00

pontiacross,
I see you have some Pontiacs in your fleet. I've had a few over the years. I had a "clone" 1973 Trans-Am (I bought a wrecked T/A and a base model Firebird and combined them). It had a 400 from a 1977 T/A, with an earlier intake/carb and cam. It ran 13.50's in the ¼-mile, and was set up to race SCCA Solo-II. It reached an untimely demise when I was rear-ended by someone doing 55+ mph (I was stopped). The engine lives on in a 1973 Chevy Blazer (used to call it the "Cheviac Fire-Blazer"). I also have an original 1973 455 T/A. In mostly stock trim (just some tuning of carb & distributor plus headers and 4.10 gears) it ran a best of 13.18. I got greedy for a 12-second timeslip and put a bigger cam & higher stall converter in, and promptly grenaded the rearend (I had swapped in a 12-bolt). Need to finish putting it back together one of these days. A good friend has a pretty wild 64 GTO, with a roller cam, round port heads, and a weird bore/stroke combo (can't remember the exact cubic inches, but it is a destroked & overbored 455). It's run around 11-flat on street tires, but his rollbar didn't pass inspection so he can't run it until he can afford a new rollbar install. There is also a Pontiac-powered dragster around here (Shane Mollinari) which usually sets low ET when they run Top Comp or Quick 16 at the races (low 7's). Same guy has a mid-8 second GTO he runs in Super-Gas.

Yep, the LED bulbs sure make a lot of difference. We carry them in stock in Blue, Amber, and Green.

Michael,

I sold my 1993 Typhoon a few years back. It had 36K miles on it. 2 owner truck, with 17x9 C4 rims in the back , 17x8 front lowered suspension, black.

There was a killer 79 firebird (black) at SEMA. If I figure how to download the pictures from my phone, I'll post them on the site.

Hey it's always good to meet a fellow pontiac lover. My TA is running basicly just modded factory parts a 455 block with ported 400 heads, a ported pontiac intake with the heat cross over removed, a factory grind cam (Ram air 4) with 1.65 roller rockers, headers, high performance pistons and fully ballenced lower end. I use to race it quite a bit untill they closed the drag strip that was about an hour and a half away I have to drive three now, my fastest time was 13.00 at 107mph. (poor 100ft times low traction and bad driver)
As for the bonneville it basicly stock other than a trailer hitch and air bag helper springs. Its running a factory 375hp. 428. Attachment 7797
Its a lot of fun flying by people running 80 mph in a big car towing another car or a boat.

I was going to try the Ram-Air 4 grind in my 455, but ended up getting a good deal on an aftermarket cam. My 400 runs the 335 hp 400 factory grind.

I blocked the exhaust crossovers too, but ended up drilling a couple of small holes in the 400's block plate to let the choke work.

With that mph you should probably be running mid-12's if you can hook up without breaking anything!

Way back in the day I liked the idea of towing with another car. My plan was to tow the 455 T/A with the 400 clone car. I ran both at several big races, slowing the 400 car down to 14-flat so I could run in a different class.

Bill,
That's cool, too bad you sold it! Mine has 146k on it (bought it with 95k). I always told myself that once I could afford one of these it would get driven! I missed the Firebird at SEMA, but I was only there for part of one day.

Joe,
Thanks for posting the photo!
