Upgrade to 05+ brakes

I was wondering what all was different and was wondering if it was something that could be upgraded on the older trucks. If I was to purchase new rotors anyway. I guess the main difference would be in the caliper... is there ANY chance that these would mount the same on the truck??? Thanks.

Not sure if they are a direct bolt on but I am pretty sure 16x10 wheels won't fit over the caliper or somthin like that. I have a set of 16x12 wheels that wouldn't fit on my buddies 05. I think he said they fit in the rear but not in the front.

Correct I realize I wouldn't be able to run my 16" wheels but since I am waiting on some new 18" rims I thought there might be a chance it is possible...

If you want to go to 05 brakes cuz you think they won't get the rotor warp and wobble, suggest you go elsewhere, have had my rotors turned twice by ford on my 05 Ex.... only problem with it thus far, but same as the 03 Ex - it eats rotors..

That might just be an Ex thing, I don't know why it would be different?...I know my mom is having trouble with the brakes (whobble) on her 05 Ex...but im at 52k with no problems they still look new. I had a squeak like they needed to be replaced at 50k but after I had the tires rotated it went away and the guy said I still had 80% of my brakes left. No hills here.

I'm not positive, but don't the Excursions have the leaf spring front ends just like previous years? If this is the case it would have the older brakes. If I am incorrect, then who knows? Chris
