About drag racing. A few questions for my 06 f 250 powerstroke turbo

:thanks:  I have a 06 f 250 powerstroke turbo and would like to know how long do you guys leave th 4 wheel drive on for . Is there a certain speed where you take it off, or do you leave it on the whole quarter mile . I 've been having trouble doing this since my truck is running on 37"s tires and 22 inch rims and 7 of lift. How do you guys do it. I also wanted to get the banks six gun tuner with power pda soon. I think this is the best one for my truck. Let me know what you guys think about all this, and if you can help me out launch like diesels should. Thank you

Don't bother. It won't release until there is no load anyway.
You can switch it out mid track but the front is still going to pull all the way down.

: I turned mine off after I got out of the throttle at the end of the track so I could turn around at the end without doing a 3 point turn around....
P.S. If you plan on doing some damage against the guy next to you at the track, look into a custom tuned SCT from one of our vendors. Banks wont get it done, especially with 37's and 22 in. wheels.

I leave mine in till I'm at the end of the track. Then switch it off while coming to a stop. I back up to unlock the hubs before making the turn.

'00 cc f 350 a few mods, and a bts tranny.

But is the SCT programmer safe to use. I Dont want to damage my transmition or anything else on my new truck. I called banks and they said that banks is really safe to use, and wont damage trans like other tuners. It has activesafe programs and other programs that keep it safe with all the power it gives . It gives 138 hp and 231 lbft of torque. How much does the SCT give out. Is it true that the ford or other car dealers know if you have been using a tuner, like for example if you break something because of the tuner and something malfunctions, the dealer knows you had a tuner on even though you take it off , because the truck has some kind of recording thing that records things like the power added by the tuner. I dont really know if it is real. I guess it is .

Another vote for SCT here. No tranny issues as long as you treat things right. Let them warm up. Never gas it hard until it's up to temp. The SCT will be easier on the tranny than the Banks or Edge because their programming is better. Matt @ LIPD, Eric @ ID (I use), DJ or Elite diesel all can make rockin' programs for you.
