Isn't the speed sensor in the rear axle?

Just curious but what kind of navigation and why would it need a speed sensor input? Does it not compute speed from locking onto the satellites?

?

Why does it want you to hook it up to the speed sensor?

All the GPS's we have had tell how fast you are going from the satelite transmission. Is it because of the brand?

Just curious.... :

And to add more irony I'm price shopping via the web a Garmin unit for my mom to buy my dad for x-mas right now.

I agree with you two, I don't know why. It's the Kenwood Navigation. Maybe I'll keep it unhooked for now, see what happens.

Ahhhh....that makes sense when used in conjunction with a CD, antenna and speed sensor. My brother's Pioneer does the same thing.

I'm use to my stand alone Garmin's.

All is well, I did not hook the wire up though, apparently it's only used for speed detection, so that you can digitally display your speed, I dont care about that, not worth the hassle of running more wire.
