Loss of Boost and Power then return to normal

This morning I lost power and boost. It's back now and everything seems to be running fine. I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened and if I need to look into it further.

When I pulled out of work, I got on the truck pretty good. Everything was running fine. I accelerated to seventy rapidly then let off as I came up to the stop sign. I turned the corner and got on it again, accelerating quickly. At about fifty I let off to go around a turn. When I gave it gas again, I had nothing. The boost was under five and the rpm's would not go up. I stepped on the gas a couple of times but could not get anything. I was able to maintain speed but not accelerate. After about 20 seconds, everything returned to normal and it was fine.

The first day I had the SCT, which was two days after I had the gauges installed, the truck had a similar problem except it did not fix itself. The first time I really got on it good with the SCT, I lost boost altogether. I could maintain speed but had no acceleration. It turned out I had blown the boost gauge hose off. That is what I thought I did again except I had to reattach the hose to get it to work last time and this time, everything is still attached and it started working on its own after less than a minute.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Rockaholic,

Do you have a 2003 7.3 or 6.0?

Never mind I read you signature.

With your SCT you can use it as a datalogger and see what is going on.

Here's a link to do datalogging info

You're saying log it now to see what happens in the future? Is that correct?

Using your dataloggoer may help you find out information like codes. It's a feature you have with the SCT. Downloading that Live like will help you do that. It's like using a code reader or scan tool if you don't have one. Need more specifics on what is going on with your truck. If you don't have a laptop to do this then you need to find someone with a good scan tool to get the data. Then you can start figuring out what could possibly be wrong.
