transfer case

the book says to use mercon when changing the transfer case fluid but never says the capacity. anyone know how much i need for my F350? and does anyone in the midwest use anything else other than standard mercon atf fluid? i was reading the lucas 80-90w gear oil bottle and it said its perfect for transfer cases but i thought it might get too thick in the winter time here in indy. any thoughts or suggestions? thanks in advance....

Sir, you will drain it with lower plug of 2. you will then will fill it with motorcraft mercron multi-purpose automatic transmission fluid XT-2-QDT or mercron equivalent.. when i fill it i pump it full till it starts running out of the fill plug(higher or the 2) and let it run out till it stops. Important not to have to much. then you are done.. if you tq your plugs they will go to 27NM of 20lb/ft

ARP studs, sct, Leveling kit,Airdog set at 62psi with no factory pump, leveling kit,5" stacks, under cab lights, Large in the way Fan shroud Removed, bed Lights being Re-did. Large Alternator(250amps)(130 amps was so 2003). On 3rd set of Hgs(soon to be 4th), 2nd set of heads, 2nd tubro, egr cooler, FICM and more. When i Turn the Key it does return a Favor, not always in MY Favor.
