7.3 Work truck chip

Hey fellas....need advise. Got a 7.3 work truck and it's only needs a mild (40ish) HP work tune. This truck pulls a 7k trailer every day. What would be the best programmer for it?

Rich...do you want a chip or programmer? I single 40hp chip would prob be the cheapest way to go. I'm sure Jody at DP could set ya up real good.

Friend of mine wanted a "little more" out of his 1999 7.3 Power Stroke. He does cabinets, floor and painting for a living. He has a fair amount of junk in his 16ft trailer. He actually blew out one of the 4 tires about a week ago, a little heavy it is. ........So, he wants more power but I know he needs only a little to keep the turbo from melting as well as toasting the transmission. I figured 40HP would get him 60 to 90 extra rear wheel TQ, just what he needs.

Oh yeah, I told him I'd find him something.... but I would not install a programmer without swapping the muffler or changing the whole exhaust system. .....I can get a new exhaust for 450 bucks, shipped.

On my 99, I ran a tri-tune SCMT 1705 for the longest time with a gutted cat and Walker BTM. Sounded very good and had good response. Never had an issue with EGT's either.

a single pos chip would get you what you need and is about the cheapest option.
