Is a DP tuner the best chip

Ok I have an 00 7.3L with about 88,000 miles on it and I am wondering if a DP tuner is the best decisions for this truck? I tow around 6 to 10,000 in the mountains of Colorado all the time. If I decide to go with a DP what settings would you guys recommend. I also heard that DP can do other thing with the chip like tranny stuff? Let me know what you guys think.

IMO they are one of the best things out there for the 7.3L.

Jody is a great choice. A very nice person to deal with that is very up front. Im sorry I cannot answer your question on what level or the tranny stuff, but I know his customer service is A+. They have helped me, when the did not have to, a few times!

I have a DP-Tuner 6 position chip.....love it on: . I've ran other chips before (not going to mention any brand names) and like the driveability and trans shifting/TC lock up of Jody's PMT1 programs the best.

My settings are as follows:
1-80hp econo
2-40hp
3-60hp
4-120hp
5-140hp
6-High Idle

If the switch ever fails it defaults to the first position....which is why that's my 80hp is in the first position (that's my daily driver setting).

I mainly only use the 80hp and the 140hp  .
Can't really comment on mileage in the 80hp......38" tires, 4.56 gears, and a lead foot don't usually equal good mileage  :roflmao: . When I've *tried* to drive *normal* I've gotten 15mpg.....of course even then I couldn't help but blow some smoke in the 140hp setting every once in a while  .

Big  :HappyMugs for Jody and Diane on the programming...and DP-Tuner decals (that I still have to put on :thanks: ).

bigwheeling,

Only way to go!!! :

Just tell Jody and Diane what you have and what you will be doing and they will recommend the best settings

I'd tell you what I have.....but I don't think it would help!!  :roflmao:
