Front suspension coil-over kits

Hi all -

Anyone tried the front-end coil-over conversion kits out there for our trucks. I've been really intrigued but continue to mess around with my air bag setup. It's worked ok but there are definitely issues with my setup that make it less than ideal.

So, I figure I'm at the point of completely committing to the air bags or dumping them in favor of coils. To do it right, I need to pull out the prototype mounts and rework them, paint everything, install a compressor, manufacture a 4-link, and probably relocate the sway bar. Right now I'm only out a few $$ and invested time. If nothing else, it was a good learning experience.

Opinions, thoughts, etc?

Cheers!
Brad

I have Icon 4-link with Carli Suspension Coil Buckets and Carli Spec King Coilovers on my 05. I love the ride of my front suspension. Your EX came with leafs? I have heard of a few people going with Full Taction Coilover Conversions. All seem to like it.

Yup, leafs all around.

The big problem I'm running into is it seems all the coilover kits are made for those who want lifts. I would like to stay stock height... I hope this doesn't turn into a "make my own brackets" project again...

i have a set of stock buckets cut off my 06 with superlift leveling springs and drop bracket,,,,i would let it all go really cheap, had about 2500 miles on kit before i ugraded to icon coilovers with icon hoop,,,sell really cheap and it is doable on you leaf srping setup,,my buddy did it to 97 long bed 4x4 we just had to build custom radius arms which were not that bad,,

i dont think anybody has a stock height coilover conversion kit. though, i know you dont want to hear it, i think making the brackets or at least piecing it together is the only way i see it working.

Any chance you could post a picture of what you have? PM me what you'd be willing to sell them for.

Right now I have my homemade mounts for my airbags. It's really tight with the airbag and shock... but I am starting to see it would be difficult to fit a coilover in there. Unfortunately, their spacing is to close to put a spring in.

The reason I was hoping to get a kit is the ones I've seen also include the 4-link or other suspension hardware. I don't mind building a few brackets but I don't have the tools to properly build up the entire suspension.

Thanks all for the info...
