I have the Delphi unit and I bought the mounting kit for it. Mine is mounted to the far right of the cubby area on the dash.

I was thinking of mounting it just above the cubby hole since I have the manual shift transfer case.

That's where I mounted mine before I bought the XM ready head unit. It worked great.

I have siruis, but its basically the same thing. I went with the satelite ready deck, just so I wouldn't have more clutter. I think it was worth paying a little more.

Here are some pics of my XM2GO installed in my Excursion.

The Panavise mount I used is the only one of its kind to utilize the ashtray/cupholder screw so no dash removal is needed. I ran the wires into the cubby hole where I drilled a hole out of site.

Panavise mount # 751072399 (panavise.com)
Panavise swivel # 685-PM

I ordered my PIE adpater to hook into my headunit from myradiostore.com.

The attenna for my Excursion is just above the window & R-View mirror outside and run along the window trim. In a P-Up, come in through the 3rd brake light.

Check out xmfan.com as they have pictures of mountings, but I think that mine is the cleanest install to date due to the panavise mount they have developed for the cupholder/ashtray.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck.

Jeff

Opps, be careful as my Excursion is an auto and when I re-read your second post you said you had a manual... so not sure if the mount and radio will leave enough clearance or not for you... but for any automatic people this is the way to go.
