How many miles till towing?!

About how many miles should you put on your truck before towing a heavy (15,000ish lbs) trailer

I'd say at least 500...just to let the gears break in well.

:agreed: Maybe even change your oil out after the 500 before you tow.

Ouch... I was looking at 350, but I guess I could try to drive around for another 150 miles. Hmm.. That free oil change i've saved might come in handy then

Truck comes with 10w-30 in it so before you tow you might wanna put the 15w-40 in it.

350 isnt too bad,500 is better. You do what you have to do.Just try not to get the diff too hot,its winter so that shouldnt be as much of a problem now.A few cool off periods will do it good if that fits into your trip, maybwa stop to eat.I really wouldnt worry about it though.I thought all 6.0 PSDs had to run 10w30 oil, both new and after to keep the warranty.

That what we want to hear! Glad you're gettin the help you need. One thing about this site I notice is that it's a very HELPFUL site rather than a whiney, confrontational site.
