Lowering '05 F350 2wd Service Truck

Well, Dad is in search of new tires (and possibly wheels, though I am not sure the smallest wheel one can run on 05) for his service truck. He wants to lower the rear some as he is not the tallest of people and is having trouble seeing into his top compartment of the service bed.

Question at hand is how can we go about doing this, most cost effective, and easiest way? I am telling him we should keep the stock wheels and go for smaller tires. Current tire size is 275/65r18 range E. Are there very many options for a smaller tire with same load rating that could fit stock wheels?

If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated, as well as if any questions need to be asked, I am around to answer them to further aid in this.

Picture of truck in question has been attached, even though not really relevant. Click image for larger version

I just wanna get this figured out, and then done the right way, so he doesn't go with any of his crazy ideas he has.

by lookin at the pic, not much you can do. Also keep in mind that doing smaller tires will only drop the truck by half the difference in tire size. i.e. dropping from a 33 to a 31 inch tire will only lower the truck 1 inch.

they are already aired down some, so they appear at least.

i was looking for real world answers and tire sizes and options as far as the suspension goes as well. guess i may have to PM some people who arent on here too regularly.

You did somewhat. I was more or less asking what brand and size tire to get.

Talked to somone else outside of the thread and they said to remove the 1" block in the rear as well.

Gettin somewhere with this one.

You'll need to keep tire CLEARANCE in mind as well.
