Driveshaft options...

The splines on the male side of my slipjoint on the driveshaft are somewhat stripped and after inspecting, don't seem to be inside the other too much. Going down the road on a test drive, the dealer said it literally "fell out". And I checked out the splines myself and they're stripped, but only a small way in, giving the impression they are not in all that much.

Now, along with the tranny upgrade that I'm having to do, I'm going to have to upgrade the driveshaft. I guess my truck has just had enough mistreatment and is bound to make me get it some attention. Options, what are they? CV joints on both ends, eliminating the carrier? CV joints keeping the carrier? Are there yoke-only upgrades for the slip joint? What should I do and who should I contact? I have a message in with SDHQ as I've done some stuff with them previously and they seem somewhat knowledgeable, but let me know what the best direction will be.... :thanks:

actually, that's who Larry / SDHQ referred me to, Jesse at High Angle. We've swapped messages several times now.

When the lift is too great and the pinion isn't rotated up it pulls the yoke out too far and can fall out. Actually grenaded one at the dealer one day to get it covered under warranty. Stand on brakes trans in reverse. KABOOM!. We were putting a trans in it anyways.
