DI's truck is "faster," it ran 122mph to genes 119. gene's truck is "quicker" because it ran a 11.51 to a 11.55...

but the 6.0 did it with a stock turbo. Gonna be 10's when they strap a 5000 on that baby!

But, what is it about the 2 engines that makes the 6.0 so much faster? Apples to apples, it is faster. But if we could correct the shortcomings of the 7.3, it should do better in the long run since it has more discplacement.....shouldn't it?

I think 32V has a lot to do with it. It's a more responsive diesel. Usually smaller engines are more responsive than larger engines. The 6L injectors are faster responding injectors, too.

whats holding the 7.3 back is rpms. it cant be wrung out enough to catch up to the 6.0. if you could run the 7.3 up to 4300rpms and gave it 4 valves a cylinder, youd have a helluva an animal!

hmmmm..... whos up for a dt466 conversion!

Gene is right and I agree, from the factor what does a 12'v cummins rev to? 3100 or something like that, there are guys that have the cummins reving over 5k, so ya 7.3 should be able to be reved higher to. Not dogging the 7.3 it is a great motor but mod for mod the 6.0 gets her done lol.
