Question transmission noise

Hello, All!! I haven't been around for a while. The great advice from here in the garage has carried me through till now. We put a transmission in a truck, and it has a strange rumbling noise. It stops when the clutch is pushed in. Maybe the bell housing is hitting the floorboard. My main question is what kind of oil is supposed to be in it. It is an S5-42ZF. The part # is E7TA-7003-HB. Any help will be very appreciated.

It takes ATF/mercon or automatic trans fluid, Its best to run synthetic too. I have heard of people having good results with running motor oil for a little bit thicker lube.

My motto: Be nice, be polite, but have have a plan to kill everyone that you meet.

Thumbs up Thanks

WOW!! Thanks a million! We've been using some heavy gear oil. You may have just saved the transmission. The smell from it is real bad. I'm so glad I came here for answers. You've done it again. I'm sure all the strange sounds will clear up with the right oil. If they don't, I'll be back, but for now YEEHAW!! We generally speak GM. Ford is an entirely different language. Your translation is more than just helpful. You are today's hero!
