Useless Grille Clips Fix?

Does anybody have a fix for the crappy way that the stock grilles are attached? Those four clips on the bottom of my grille are completely useless. Every time I manage to get them on, the grille pops out of the clips when I tighten the screws on top.

Me 2, at the moment the ONLY thing holding the grill on is the screws. im going to try drilling the bottom tabs where the clips go and threading sum 14 gauge wire thru it and just tying it back.

Hint...
pull the clips from the body and put them on the GRILL...
put one or two screws on top, tighten just enough to locate it correctly, then pivot the bottom in and it works !!!
then put the rest of the screws in the top and tighten...

Have never had an issue with the grill .... and it's been off many times...

maybe you messed up or "widened" the clip slots too much to hold ?
