CCV reroute & EGR Mod

It looks like the weather is going to be nice here this weekend so I am planning on doing a few of the simple cheap mods to my truck. I want to make sure I have everything before i start. I have read about both of these but have a few questions.

What all do I need to have to be able to do the EGR mod? I read somewhere that there isn't a flange in my pipe so all I need is a 1 1/2 freeze plug to put into the hole on the up pipe? Where is the best place to find this? Advance or Auto Zone????

What all do I need to be able to do the CCV Reroute. I haven't seen a good write up or instructions on how to do this mod. (prob looking in the wrong place.)

Is there any harm in doing either one of these mods???

Thanks.:

It sounds to me your trying to block the exhaust flow to the EGR cooler. Is this right? I know on some trucks this will set off a check engine light. I think the best way is to use an SCT and have your tuner shut off your EGR then block the flow to the cooler. As for the CCV you will need 1" hose and many people use a 3/4" pvc plug for the intake.

I was told it would only set of CEL on 05-06 trucks, I already have a power pup and unless I upgrade to an SCT I won't be able to have it turned off. I figured I could just plug it off w/ about 2 hrs. a work and the cost of a freeze plug.

How long of a hose??

I ended up using about 20ft. of hose, but I am really picky. I ran it down under the degas bottle, down the frame, across the cross member then down the frame a little more. I did this so if any gases escape, I don't have to smell them. To start, you will need to pull the airfilter. Next, unhook the small hose that connects the valve cover to the intake. Some people then use a 3/4" pvc plug inside of the intake with a hose clamp to seal it off. I on the other hand used a bolt with a washer and hose clamped that in to seal off the intake. This way there is no chance the bolt would get sucked in. Guess I am paranoid. I also used some gasket sealer on the bolt to seal it up better. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.

I will try and get pics later, but right now I am at work. As for the bolt, I used something out of my "junk" bolt bin. Sorry this info isn't helpful, but I will try and get something for you guys soon. BTW, the hose is 1" I.D. I just went to Napa and got 1" heater hose. Working well so far.
