Spare tire size vs exhaust

Question... for those of you with a 5" exhaust, what size is your spare? I have a 265/75/16 spare in there right now, but am 99% sure its original. It appears to be in good shape, but I'd rather not find out if/when a tire goes. I have a spare unmounted used 285/75/16 that I was thinking I could mount that as a spare, but am not sure if it will fit. The 265 has a bit of wiggle room, but not much. So, do you think it will fit? I have a factory hitch on there.

I was pondering the same thing when I installed my 4" exhaust. Unfortunately I was never able to test whether a 285 would fit under there as the previous owner installed a spare tire lock and left me no key.

I ended up cutting it down with a sawz-all and removing the works. Quite rusty above the spare by the way.

I've had the spare down before when I undercoated the truck, even painted the spare rim too. The 265 was a squeeze but it went up, so...?

I had a 35 12.50 under my 99. There is a tab there that I bent a little bit and didn't have any problems.

I have a 4" exhaust, and have a 315/75/16 under there with no problems. It's tight, but fits.
