spray on liner on running boards?

The paint keeps peeling off of my running boards(smooth aluminum), and I was thinking about using some off the shelf spray/roll on liner material on them. What are your thoughts on how well it would hold up, and how slippery would it be when wet? Thanks.

ive had friends that used to DIY bed liner with some success... ive never had much luck with it.. looks good for a while but then starts chipping/flaking. i'd say you need to prep it really well. maybe even run by a shop that does spray in bedliner and get a quote from them if you took them off and dropped off at their place.... might be cheap enough to justify not screwing with it.

another option would be the rubberized undercoating and it holds up really well but it needs plenty time to set up or it will stick to your shoes!

I would say take them somewhere and have them done. I just had a tool box done. Did the entire box for $100. Just tell them you're not in a hurry and they can wait till they are doing a bedliner in a truck or something. That way they dont have to do a special job just for you. It will last alot longer than the rattle can stuff.
