95 headlight switch nob fell off

My buddy has a 95 f350, the headlight switch nob came off and we cant figure what holds it on. Any ideas?

1997 Chevrolet C3500 CCLB dually 6.5 (wifes)
Couple other GM's,some trailers, tractors, and about a half dozen horses...

If just the knob came off, there is a metal clip that should go into the knob. That clip is what holds it on the switch stem. this clip is also what you need to release to properly remove the knob through the groove on the end of the knob. Its possible the clip is broken/missing, or still on the switch stem.

94 F250 IDI turbo, auto 2wd.. ATS housing, 3" down, 4" exh, guages. 104k miles got totalled by a damn mustang (parts now).

98 12v, 4x4 quad cab. auto with BD T/C & V/B, Banks Big head, Exh brake, AFC modded, 16.5ish*, KDP gone, 60lb springs, 4K-GSK, BHAF, pyro, trans, and boost guages. 4" straight pipe,

72 AM General M35A2, LDT465-1C "Whistler" Turbo, PTO winch.

thanks guys! if i were to go to a junk yard to get one off how would i do that with out braking it?

I think you can take a small screwdriver and push the clip in on the back of the nob and it sould come off .

what BSP said, just pull the knob out ( headlamps on ) then turn the knob and find the notch at the base of the knob and slide a small screw driver ( pocket sized works good ) or a pic, into the notch. you should feel some slight spring tension, when you have the screwdriver positioned into the notch the knob just pull off rather easily.
