How large of a tire will the stock carrier hold?

I know there is a limit to space with the exhaust routed to the back but how much will the stock carrier hold in weight? I'm looking at getting wheels/tires and I don't want a 37 inch tire coming loose under the bed while driving as I think it would cause a small problem. I'm planning on having the exhaust come out in front of the rear wheel if it's safe for the larger tire to mount under the bed. If it's not safe I guess I'll give up some bed space and mount it in the bed. Planning on ProComp Extreme A/T 37x12.5R18 on Extreme Alloys Series 1059 18x9.5.

Just make sure it is an aluminum rim and you should be okay. I shoved a 35" tire underthe bed in the tire carrier.

Not sure on the weight, but its not much extra room b/t the factory spare and the back of the hitch.

I have a 35 mounted under the back. I dont think a 37 will fit, if it does it will be really close.

Went and measured it. You could squeeze a 36 in between the hitch arms (it would require a spacer to keep it off the hitch mounting bolts) but the 37 won't fit. My main concern was whether it would hold the weight safely but now I guess I'm going to look for a bed mount system.
