4x4 won't engage

Tried in engage my 4x4 tonight and nothing happens. No lights and no 4x4. I turned the truck off and on and the 4x4 lights came on then went off. I did have the cab off last week getting my head studs done. I'm thinking something didn't get plugged back in. Where do I start looking?

Well I went out last night and checked all my fuses. All were fine. Started it up this morning and engaged just fine in 4x4. I was going to run it in 4x4 last night when a buddy wanted to race, so I ran in 2wd, still smoked him though, just a little less rubber on the rear tires now.

4x4 high range can be engaged on the fly (assuming you have ESOF).

4x4 LO range requires that the truck be in NEUTRAL w/ your FOOT ON THE BRAKE before
the transfer case will engage low range, reverse the proceedure to take the truck out
of low range.

I hope you werent racing in low range.

No I tried both. Neither would engage last night, so I raced 2wd.

I figured something didn't get plugged in since I just had the cab off. So I started with the fuses. All were good. It's working now. It's PFM

I had this same problem awhile back . Turned out to be a broken wire in the harness going the the motor on the transfer case . I took the harness completely out of the truck and check continuity between the two ends and found it .
