Because if you think that a wadded up piece of paper is actually getting the chit off of your butt.....then I have to ask a question....

.....if you wiped a turd on your arm....would you just use a paper towel to get the turd off?.....or would you wash your arm?...

...let that thought roll around in your head for a moment...

" thank you tank for that insightful thought

Turn the key on and off (from run to lock) 8 or 10 times. Truck will lock and then unlock on its own if it does.

If it has the number pad by the outside door handle you definately have keyless entry, and remote lock functions. or try this...

2000 superduty, cycle key from off to run 5 times within 10secs and ending in run. locks should cycle to confirm programming is ready. If you have remotes in hand this is when you press any button on each remote(s) to program to truck. turn key off to end programming.

2000 excursion same above but 8 times within 10secs.

Keyless entry is one of the many functions controlled by the GEM module. This module is mounted to the back of the fuse box under dash.

94 F250 IDI turbo, auto 2wd.. ATS housing, 3" down, 4" exh, guages. 104k miles got totalled by a damn mustang (parts now).

Well I was explaining that generically, but I did look at the Ford shop manual and they do list Keyless entry with the factory "through the door" keypad. Now that might be for the Excursion only IDK. I dont have one to prove one way or the other. I only know if its in the 2000 manual it was avail on something within F-Super Duty either F-250-550, Excursion, or F-53, also is does not show a keypad option for 1999 though

I think you're right on the excursion having it. They also got the electronic a/c controls and controls on the steering wheel around 2000, or so. Which I never understood why they couldn't have done it on the SD's before '05
