Need a door lock solenoid

I am experimenting with making my tool box lock and unlock with the electric door locks. I already have the tailgate lock (50 bones on e-bay) but I just want a solenoid to see if I can fashion a lock for the tool box as well.

Has anybody done this?

Does anybody have an old or spare solenoid laying around they are will to part with cheap?

I have the paddle style handles that come stock on the Rawson-Koenig tool box.

Hmmmm, smells like another do it yourself how to. If I get it figured out, which should not be hard, I'll post pics and all for those that follow in the future.

Thats basically what I got, but in the great state of okiehoma youd pay sales tax and have to drive 40 miles to get them, this way for 14 bones they will deliver them to my doorstep.

Did the tailgate with a ready built lock I bought online. I'll see if I can find the old package and give you the manufacturer.
