Damn didn't realize it was in the excursion section, though it was in the van thread. lmao Iam an idiot. It should be a problem. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work.

I know it's been done, there was a thread on it a while ago on another forum, but I can't remember which one, and my searches have come up blank, but it has been done.

I think you've gotta drill a few holes for the shock mounts up front, and that's it. Everything else just bolts up. If I had the money, I would have already bought my donor truck for this swap... Found a flooded 2006 F-350 4x4 for $2300. No motor, tranny, or bed, but the rest of the truck was there.

I hope to do it the only problem I have is that then I have to buy a lift kit for the coil suspension and swap my gears also...

Yeah, but having a 2000 and a 2005, it's like day and night. The handing is vastly better as is the ride. Worth the money to re-gear. There was a set of '05 axles on Craigslist here in SoCal with complete brake to brake with 4.56s, he was asking 1000 for the front axle, and you could probably get it for less. Good luck! I want to do this on my 2000 Excursion some day.

The Current Truck (Oct-2013 to Present):
1999 (Early) F-350 Lariat, CCLB, SRW, Black/Tan

7.3L Powerstroke, 4R100, 4x4, 3.73, 37x13.50-18s, '05 Axle Swap, 6" Fabtech lift, GTP38 "D66" turbo upgrade, SCT 4-position chip with custom tuning by me, Straight Piped 4" down pipe through 5" dual stacks, N-Fab full length triple steps, Pro-Tech cab guard and tool box, louvered 5th wheel gate, Hella 500 Fog and Driving lamps, much more to come...
The one I'll miss, (Mar-2009 to Jan-2014):
2000 Excursion XLT 4x4

6.8L V-10, 4R100, 4.30, 285/75-18, 271whp / 388wtq
The one I won't, (Jul-2005 to Sep-2012):
2005 F-350 XLT, CCLB, SRW, 4x4 FX4

6.0L PSD, ZF-6S650, 3.73, 35x12.5-18, 4.5" Lift

Have you checked out the coversion kit that Full Traction suspension makes? They offer a 4,6, and 8" lift that converts your 03-04 over to a 4link coilover frontend. When you add up all the stock 05+ stuff you would have to find, pluss the lift, it couldnt be that much differant. Pluss you get to keep the axles and gears you already have.
