Flashtech hid 6k kit

1. Diconnect the batteries- 8mm wrench
2. Remove the grille, there are 5 screws along the top and 5 clips along the bottom - 7/32 socket, 1/4 drive and screw driver

3. Remove the four bolts on headlight, two on top and two on bottom - 7/32 socket, 1/4 drive

4. Remove the headlight socket, flasher and sidemarker.

5.Mount relay on driver side fender using 10mm bolt, also run the neg and pos to battery.

6. run the harness along the frame to the passenger side, I ran this along the battery harness thats located in front of intercooler

7. I installed passenger side first, there is one neg battery connection to make, connect the harness from the ballast to the headlight bulb. Make sure when you install the bulb back into the headlight to align the mark on the bulb with the locked mark on the head light.

8. Reinstall flasher, marker and headlight

9. Driver side make the same connections and reinstall the headlights

10. Mount the ballast, I used industrial streanght 3m double sided tape. Clean the back of the ballast and the fender and frame. I mounted the passenger side to the fender beside the battery and the driver side on the front of the frame (limited on space)

Lastly, I tested the system and reinstall the grille, I also had to re-adjust the headlight beams loacted at the top right corner of the headlight.

I wish I could tell you more, I called pure diesel performance when I ordered them. Garret asked me if I wanted high and low beam ? I said yes and he said I needed the h13 hi/lo, which is the digital kit. This kit is $279 and just the low beam kit is $179.

To tell you the truth all Hi/Lo kits are junk! The bulbs don't last very long at all.
When the bulbs are set to low beam you can't see a thing.

digital kits are much smaller in design. The signal is sent digitally from the ballast to the bulb. (from what I have read on other web sites)

For a pretty hefty price you can pick up a set of digital HID's that can a just to the driving conditions,But there is a lot of modification that is needed to the headlights

I was suprised how bright the 6k are. I dont understand how you say you cant see a thing. I can see road signs alot better and twice as far. They are twice as bright as the xenons in my wife acura. She thought her lights were bright untill she drove my truck. I see you run the 6k as well, did you re-adjust your beam after the install ? Your truck sits alot higher then mine. Also how long would you say the bulbs last ?

the real problem w/ these KITS is that the light/house/reflector was not properly
constructed to handle the HID bulbs (their longer & place the beam in the housing
in the wrong position).

this is why these kits are considered DOT 'illegal'

When you say the beam is in the wrong position, is that in the headlight it self ?
