35" winter tires

Howdy all I have a 4.5" lift on a 08 F-350, currently running 35" toyo open country MT tires. Looking at a winter set, I have always run these in the winter but after a few close calls last winter I think it is time to make a change. Who if anybody makes a good winter/all season. Looked at the open country AT but some people have told me they are too hard.

Get your current tires studded and siped. Stud the outside and sipe the inside I get this done every year I worked at a tire shop for 10 years and NO winter tire can come close to the traction that this gives.

If I remember correctly you are from GP? I work in the Grande Cache area and was wondering where you get yours done? Can you stud used tires or do they have to be done from new? I live just west of Stony Plain.

PS I run into BC to snowmobile a fair bit, ever had trouble with the DOT's?

My biggest issue with **** Cepek and Mickey Thompson is the width, need some thing narrower for winter.

The rubber is to hard in these tires and the siping is not good. They are better then Mud Terrains on ice but thats about it. A good "actual" winter tire will have a short treadlife. Thats why I run a mt studded and siped.

You can legally run studs from oct-april in bc I believe.... either way I have ran then year round and never been bothered. You can stud a used tire as lond as it is a mud terrain (solid tread block) Otherwize you risk pushing rocks into the casing when the get studded. I get it done at Fountain Tire in GP. What are you doing for work in GC? Where do you go sledding? Revy??

I am an area manager/operator/construction supervisor/rig consultant/I can do anything/kind of guy for a smaller oil company down the trunk road. I mostly ride out here actually, 4ft ditches make for some good riding. Sounds kind of lame but usually when I go home I am all rode out. I love revy and sicamous but usually end up around Mc Bride due to the distance. You should come out when the snow is right.

What's your deal?
