Ladder bar help

So im building up my own set of Ladder bars. Not traction bars. what i need to know is: What length do they need to be for my 4.5" lift? i have 35's but will be moving up to 37's in a year or so. I heard they dont need to be as long as trac bars but im a bit confused. Pics would be awesome too. the truck is also a supercab so pics of ladder bars or traction bars on a crew cab do me no good.

Ladder bars are full floating and Y'd at the axle and traction bars are solid mount and 1 bar. Im assuming thats what hes talking about. There is really no length requirement. The longer the better but use the right equipment and it shouldnt matter. Basically mock up a set that goes past your front leaf mount and wont hit it. I wanted to use a set of rear leaf spring hangars and shackle from a superduty to make the front ladder bar mount. I think that would work pretty good. Let us know how it goes. I would like to get a set here in the near future but would rather build them. Just dont have the equipment to do so. Ryan

Are you going to weld the front mounts to the frame or try to bolt it to the frame? Look up under there and see how much room you have, if there are already some holes you can take advantage of, etc.

Tire size won't affect the ladder bars. Suspension lift changes will, but not tire size.

not sure yet, if there are holes under there already then i will bolt em up. might be welding them to frame though, and weld them to the axle if im correct? would 6ft bars be good? hardest part for me is making the bracket that mounts to the axle.

i make all my tbars around 6ft. to make a decent looking ladder bar you will need a plazma cutter or lazer cut pieces for the axle brackets

Just another 6leaker Thanks to RCD
