Floor Jack on the Pumpkin

The below picture has me wondering ... is it "safe" to use a floor jack on the pumpkin? The manual says don't do it. But, why? I always turmoil over that damn page in the manual! Why am I not suppose to jack up the vehicle there? Is it just that some people have had it fall off? Or, is there some other reason?

Maybe Ford is just trying to slow me down??

Maybe becasue of the truck rolling? I.E. you are under the left side and your buddy leans on the left side of the bed and the truck rolls?

That's what I'm thinking, too. But, if I do it there quick
and then place the jack stands on the frame rails or axle
points, along with wheel chauks in the front ... it'd think
it'd be okay. Yet, I don't do it ... cause of that dern
"anti" picture in the manual.

The only problem I ever have with it is my friends giving me a hard time for following the manual.

I was thinking something like the following would be
a nice attachment for a floor jack:

Actually, I like that bottle jack setup, too! I've used my
OEM one a few times and it already makes me think it's
ready to give up the ghost ...

Maybe, is all the weight is on the leaf springs pushing down on the unsupported axle housing..............just a guess.
