got butt raped by the dealership.....lug nuts!

just got some factory 20s for my truck, to replace the aftermarket rims. I didnt have the factory lug nuts and no tire store carries them. Make a long story short I had to order 32 factory lug nuts at $4.43 a piece! What a joke, one dealership told me $7.00 a piece and another said $10.00 a piece. So lug nuts ended up costing me about $150!

ouch, you know somewhere somebody makes/sells them. Buying a couple is still a rip off but wouldnt hurt too bad, thats gotta hurt needing all 32. Im sure you needed them quick but I would have considered a salvage yard...maybe.

i sold my stock 20s last week. i handed the guy a bag of nuts. he told me he didnt need them. i basically talked him into taking them. could have done someone on here a solid.

4WheelParts has them for a pretty fair price, sounds like you got ripped, but sometimes it happens!

Wow, I still have all 32 of mine, didn't realize they were over $4 a piece! Holy Hell!

I need to lock them up somewhere safe!

whatever you do don't use them for fish weights

Holy cow! I'm pretty sure you could have gotten some stock type gold plated Gorilla lug nuts for less than that; or at least the heat treated chrome plated ones ...

I called every salvage yard within 200 miles, called every tire shop, ebay everything. The 08s have a new PN that is a 14mm x 1.5 and no one carries them. You can not use a standard accorn style lug nut on ford factory rims, you need these special ones. I will get the PN later and post it on here. Believe me I did everything I could do to get the cheapest option possible. If it were a 04 or older truck I found several options for lug nuts, not for a newer superduty though.

It doesnt make sense why they keep changing stuff like that, I guess to try to force you to buy their crap. Also it would be a good idea for people with aftermarket wheels to keep 8 factory lug nuts in the truck for changing a flat with the spare, unless the aftermarket lug nuts will fit the spare.
