Auto to 6spd?

Working out a deal to swap my 5r110 cummins adapter parts to help a friend swap out his 6.0 to a real motor! My question is will a late model 6spd bolt up to the older 5.9?
And I'm going to swap the column shift for a floor shifter. Any Ideas?

Basically the adapter plate on the back of the motor that the bellhousing bolts too. Maybe its not called the motor plate. I posted thay kinda late last night and that's what popped into my head. A g56 should be what's in the dodges after the nv5600. I think they started in 03 or 04, don't quote me cuz I don't know a whole lot about the 3rd gen stuff.

What kind of clutch are you wanting to get?

Garrett

Clutch.....Well haven't given it much thought, south bend or something like it, I want a good one because i hate doing something twice.

I can't make up my mind if i want the dodge transfer case or keep the ford.

You will probably have to keep the Ford transfer case. Your tone ring/reluctor for your speedo should be in there.

I have an extra 5.9 plate. I just pulled my NV4500 out to put the Allison in. If you are planning to run a Ford ZF-6 you will need to buy an aftermarket plate from one of the conversion guys.

look for a clutch pedal out of another superduty. i hear they bolt right up. thats what i plan to do.

i would recommend a dual disc 3200 or 3600 depending on what you plan to do.

if you can get a 6spd from a super duty you keep your stock t-case. my plan is to keep mine and get a dodge input to bolt my nv4500 to it.

So, you are keeping the ford t-case and swapping the input shaft to fit the NV4500? iS that a 6spd? I was thinking of the g56....All i want is a better shifting tranny something i can tow with.

no, i have to swap a dodge 271 input onto my 273 as the spline count is different from dodge to ford.

the NV4500 is a 5spd.

the G56 is a good tranny. if you can find on from a ford it will bolt right up to your t-case then just change out the motor plate. or whatever its called. tranny plate maybe. do the fords even have a g56 or is that a dodge tranny? i dont see an adapter plate for cummins to g56 from destroked. i say give them a call and see what they say. maybe one of the vendors on here that does swaps. GOS would be a good one to call.
