2006 F350 CR + ZF6 = Another Happy Fummins Owner!

We just wrapped this one up for a local customer and good friend, Kirk who we also did the '85 F250 12v Conversion for about 2 years ago. After his 6.0 had let him down and left him on the side of the road multiple times over the last couple years, Kirk said to he!! with it! We got the ball rolling by finding a nice cherry little 05 CR motor with 43k on the clock, and got a ZF6 trans from Dan @ Midwest Transmission, married by a Destroked adapter plate and Southbend 3250 Double disc, and GOS Modded Hydraulics. Kirk opted to run a Silver 62/80 Industrial tubo with an ATS manifold. A FASS HD series 150 pump gets the fuel from the tank to the motor. Programming for the truck is powered by a Smarty with TNT tuning, which makes this thing rip! Kirk owns Shiloh Sharps Rifles, and builds the finest and highest quality rifles around! Check out his site HERE

More pics to come, these were all that I could get before he burned out of here... couldn't keep him from behind the wheel for very long!

looks good steel. All of the pics i've seen of your conversions are great. Seems like alot of guys are doing cummins conversions lately. Where is everyone getting the CR engines from...wrecked trucks, ebay...just wondering cause who knows maybe someday i just might do it also. I've checked ebay for engines and most of them don't include the wireing harness', PCM, turbo and more. And the engines on ebay seem pretty pricey. If not CR i'd probably go 12v just for the easyness of it guess.

Honestly, Jump on Google and start searching! These motors are becoming more expensive and harder to find because guys are doing these conversions, one good this is that there are alot of spare 6.0 motors out there! If you are in a larger area that has some good size junkyards, you can sometimes find a complete drive train, engine, trans, tcase, wiring, turbo, ECM, and so on, which makes the install pretty simple. 12vs are also getting harder to find because of how bulletproof they are, and guys building pulling trucks with them. These motors are only going to get more expensive as time goes on... just another excuse to hurry up and do your conversion!

That right there is why I scooped up my 12V when I came across it. They are getting harder to find for a decent price. I found it for a deal as a complete truck that I am able to drive and have available if I ever get the itch. Chris

I'm a little more country than that...

This may be a stupid question, but does all the cruise control functions still work after converting from a 6.0 to a common rail.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, and no the factory Ford buttons won't still work, we use the factory Dodge buttons mounted somewhere in the dash, works very slick!
