Truck is overheating

I have a 2004 f-350 with a 95 12v cummins in it. I have never had a problem with it overheating but now it is. I am running two elec. fans and it can sit and idle for hours and never get above 210. I have even pulled a 44 ft gooseneck with 9k of cargo and neer had a problem. But my good friend borrowed it and is in the middle of Kansas And it started overheating on him. Any ideas on what could be happening. The water pump is new and he even pulled the thermostat and its still overheating?

Is the friend pulling anything? is it really heavy? how fast is he cruising at? are the fans working? blown fuses maybe... how many cfms are the fans pushing I think the ford fan pulls around 6000 cfm's most electrics are only around 2000 each. Is there a leak? Could there be air in the system?

Yea sorry to get back with yall i figured it out. It started with the plug in the factory recovery tank at the top cracked open and let a bunch of water out then it got hot the first time. So he "filled" it back up. The whole time he really wasn't filling the cooling system completely up and had a ton of air in the system. Once he did that no problems. No bubbles in the bottle.
