2010 Ram 4500 Steering Issues
2010 Ram 4500 SLT 6.7L Auto Trans. Bone Stock. Does have the hydro-boost. One the guys that was driving it that day got it back to shop and said it drove fine all morning and then all of the sudden acted to him like the power steering was going out. Belt, Fluid level all looked fine. When turning the steering wheel either way it acts to me like there is a "catch" because it is real hard to turn for an inch or two, then it seems to break free for 3 or 4 inches of travel then it "catch's" again and it does that the whole time you are turning it both ways. Watched everything as someone else turned the wheel, and throughout the whole travel both ways never saw any signs of rubbing or interference. No whistling sound, like I had read about in other trucks. Unhooked the link bar at the bottom of the steering box and same thing happened so I know it isn't anything below that steering box messing up. Swapped power steering pumps with another identical truck that had no issues, and same thing is happening. I'm thinking it's either in the steering box or the hydro-boost system, but I was hoping someone might be able to help me a little. Thanks Guys.
