Problems installing shocks

Got new shocks with rubber grommets for mounts off the pegs for shocks on my truck, any good way to get the shock on next? Sounds retarded I know but the grommets enlarged slightly since the mount pegs slightly larger than their inside diameter and now the shocks wont slide on. Any Ideas will help already tried pressing them on with a C-Clamp and tapping them on.

Sounds to me like you have the wrong shocks. Check and measure against the old ones. Just a thought
