Personally I believe they should do a test in Canada. None of this factory set up units buy them in Alberta, right off the lot, I figure you need five trucks, drive them unloaded to Clear water in B. C. that should have them worn in enough, load one each at the maximum, carrying capacity, and towing of the Dodge. then the ford gets itself loaded to it's max and the GM the same way, fill them with fuel. then take the #5 to Merritt, up and over the 97C to Kelowna, to the #33 to the #3 then back to Alberta. The people hear that know the rought will know it has lots of ups and downs. That is a test, They could stop at Grand-forks, overnight to check the oil level Idle for five minutes then go.
I want to hear of a run that puts the things to work not a pansy 1 mile run or twenty mile run, a trip up some real long hills, worked like they say they are made to.
At the end I want facts, not some talking head telling me how there is room for improvement, and he is sure it will improve. Facts, mileage, times on the hills, temperatures. Facts that tell me something.

Yup, only thing i would add they should a dual tests

Ram / Ford / GM:
Gasser v.s. Gasser & Diesel v.s. Diesel

Install a complete set of gauges into each truck, run rate them on performance and the numbers

Run them in both extremes the Cold of Alaska and the heat of Arizona

Then we should have the true Gasser King and the true Diesel King

I do not understand all this negativity, before you buy a truck do you want one that will work or is having a nice stereo, and a bunch of fancy do dads, more important than the ability to pull a hill.
I have an LMM and regularly pull very steep grades with a trailer above 14,000 lbs and feel safe going up and down.
If I buy a new truck I want to know, the truck will work, and is not a dyno queen.
If they do a test like I posted earlier then we would know. This is the first Ford pick-up in a long time I would even consider, and unless they do a long test and it proves it can do the job, then it will not be on my list.

Attention Ford, Dodge and GM

I'll take a few trucks to test. I haul 10 tons of hay with my trucks a few times a week. I know how to real world tourture test a pickup truck.
