it would be good to see these 2 trucks dynoed before the test.

maybe ford is not being truthfull with there new HP and TQ numbers ?

on paper ford should win so what gives?

very interesting

"Ford has announced that it's raising power levels in its all-new compression ignition engine to an astonishing 400 horsepower and 800 pounds-feet of torque through an update to the engine's software. That’s an increase of 65 pounds-feet and 10 hp over the initial 390-hp, 735 pounds-feet version of the engine that was announced in February. It's also an increase in bragging rights, after Ford saw GM claim segment-leading power ratings for the 397-hp, 765 pounds-feet 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 diesel in March."

seems like a marketing ploy by ford

BTW i am a very loyal ford owner but it looks like the chev wins this round or should i say ISUZI

Enough said. We all can stop arguing about which brand got it right in 2011. Maybe 2012 will be Fords year.

kudos to GM.

I guess, we'll have to see how these hold up for the long haul? That was a good test.

Regardless of the test, this states that GM/OM was King of the Hil that day. They will have to defend this they know, becasue the other two won't take this sitting down, until their day in the sun is established. This is a pride thing, and if any of you can't see this, then so be it. Numbers seem to get in the way of logic...

Because it is all about getting up the hill the fastest and down the hill with the least amount of brake application!

Granted, Ford has some work to do on the exhaust brake, and some high altitude tuning. But really, this is one battle in the war. A truck is a combination of things and not just who gets up/down the hill fastest.

One thing I'm sure we can all agree on though, this will make Ford better!

I must say they put them both up against each other in just about every hardcore application and GM was able to perform these real world task with the most ease. Therefor GM can do a combination of things, plus climb hills. I just don't understand, if Ford did like 250000 miles worth of testing, why didn't they know what needed to be done to edge out GM. It might just take more then simple tuning. It sounds like the drivetrain could be working better together.
