fuel filter change

its not time to change it yet, but i have encountered a delimna. instructions in owners manual state to lower the rear of the wheel well liner. may have been simple procedure before but with mud guards installed it will be a major undertaking. where else can the fuel filter be accessed without dismantling the truck.

It can be taken out from the top, its a bit of a pain or you can cut a door into the wheelwell liner.

I do my fuel filter when I rotate the tires that way it is easy to get access with a body tool to get the clips out and a driver drill to get the mud flap out. You only have to remove part of the inner liner to get access.

If you take your truck to a shop they'll just change it from the top instead of screwing with undoing the fender liner and taking off the mud flap to change the filter or a few of the guys do the door thing.

walk in vs garage price

Anybody out here work at Napa or O'Reilly? I also am in need of filter change and was curious how much I can save using a garage discount for air/lube/fuel filters vs. walk in price...I don't really want to wait but will try to get buddy to help if savings are substantial.

Thx

RR

Garage
you could try www.dieselfiltersonline.com

Racor/AC delco is the filter is the one I would use from there, its the best quality, it may be a little more expensive, but it is worth it
