DPF and Fluid

I am looking at buying a 2011 GMC 2500 with the Duramax. I owned a 2003 at one time so I know about owning a diesel. What I don't know is the new emissions regs. How much does the emission control hurt the vehicle performace?

But Main question is how much DEF Fluid does these truck use? Is it Rate in MPG, and how much cost does this add to the ownership of the truck. Also I didn't see a gauge in the truck, just a light, how much warning does this light give you? Thanks

2012 Z-71 Duramax

1987 379 Peterbilt 425 Cat, RTX 15715, 390 rear ends.

1994 379 Peterbilt 425 Cat, 9 speed, 3:70 rears

Also drive anything that is overloaded and fast!!

CAN YOU KEEP UP!?!?!?!?

Well it depends on what you mean performance, if your talking stock then it doesn't hurt performance. now if your talking about adding power mods, then there is less choice then there has been. DEF usage depends on how you drive, but I've heard you only need to fill up twice a year maybe 3 times. as for cost its like buying an extra jug of washer fluid
