2011 Suburban HD w/ diesel?

Any news on if/when GM is going to put a diesel engine in the Suburban? I have been waiting for this truck FOREVER. I bought a 2008 Ford F350 w/ 6.4L diesel and it just wasn't for me, so I sold it and now drive my 2004 Suburban. I have vowed to not get rid of it until I trade it in for a brand new diesel suburban. I don't care if it's 1/2 or 3/4 ton.

I dont know but I hope its soon! The only way I would get rid of my 1997 is if it was for a new one with a Diesel!

The 4.5L is still in limbo and will be for a while. I hope Gm gets it to market first, lots of folks would love a diesel in 1500 truck and in SUV's.

GM has been dangling a smaller diesel in front of us for years.

I love my GMC truck and sorry for sounding cynical, but GM corporate is such a screwed-up mess, I'd really doubt you'll see that happen. GM is just a shell of its' former self. Sales down 50%, Hummer sold off, Saturn discontinued. Medium & heavy trucks gone.....

A diesel in the 1/2 ton & Sub makes too much sense. Therefore, they won't do it.

GM is now being run by the democrats in our government. We know nothing good can copme from that except maybe some 2 seater solar powered car on 12" tires for the tree huggers. Maybe Al Gore can get credit for designing it and a check for 500 million from Barry-O.

Go find a wrecked same-year Dmax truck, and swap the drivetrain over to your Suburban.
