The Chevy numbers don't have as great a variance than the Ford. think on that for a while

Best in class if you want a 4x2 reg cab dually....

Looks at the payloads, if you want a CC 4x4 DRW the Chevrolet payload bests Ford by 1205lbs... 4700lbs Ford, 5905 Chev.....

2011 Chevy 2500HD CCSB 4x4 SRW Duramax - 16700 5th wheel towing capacity
2011 Ford F350 CCSB 4x4 SRW Powerstroke - 15800 5th wheel towing capacity

In most of the popular cab/box configurations the 2500HD & 3500 has a higher towing and payload capacity than the F250 & F350

I have never bought a pickup based on towing capacity or payload.

I agree Wayne, i hook the trailer to the hitch and pull it, but it seems that the Ford boys like to hold that few hundred pounds on the most base models over our noses... How many guys here want a 2wd reg cab dually... well besides mike? I want a CCSB 4x4, and when it comes down to it thats what most guys buy as well, so that is where the focus on payloads and capacities should be.....

Reg cab shortest wheel base 2WD Thank's for mentioning me . . .

Have driven and owned a few 4WD Dually's they didn't seem to go any better off road front axle seemed to sink faster then the 2WD's did . . .

EDIT:
2WD advantage is you can run wide front tires 12-16.5's or 265/75R16's on Front and 7.50-16's or 235/85R16's Rear,245/70R19.5's front and 8R19.5's rear yes i did it with 19.5's even the 19.5's

the 245 & 8R combo works on 4WD's too

I believe it is next year when the new SAE towing specs come out, they are not that tough but better than nothing. them we will see what the specs all are now they are really not that relevant.
