DTA 466 Cummins M11 swap

I have a 1991 Int single axle dump with DTA466(mech)/AllisonMT653/Rkwl 30K 5.38 rear. Truck is a workhorse but could use more power and top speed. I was planning to pull the DT and rebuild and crank the boost to get closer to 300hp and change out to manual trans and change rear ratio for cruise speed of 65. I found a guy with a 2005 single axle road tractor that has a Cummins M11 (electronic) and a 9 speed manual trans and he will let me have the whole driveline. I think it should be a better move to change to the bigger displacement motor. Has anyone done a similar swap? Physically I don't anticipate a problem but I wonder how complicated it will be to hook up an electronic motor to my wiring harness? Any thoughts?

Haven't done this but believe you would need the entire ECU and wiring harness.
I've heard of electronic to mechanical swaps but never the reverse.
