I had always used rubber mats in the past until I got the 2013 that had the factory spray in liner. Don't know what brand the liner is though. So far its been better against things wanting to slide in the bed. The factory liner seems to be a bit tacky, almost a rubbery feel compared to other liners I had seen which seem to helps against sliding. That being said, I like it since it also protects the inner sides of the bed and tailgate that the rubber mat did not. Thats my .02 cents worth

It won't stop the rust and makes it a real SOB to repair should you need a bedside installed down the road. They are great at making things quieter that are in the bed for certain and do a fair job of keeping things from sliding. This same thing is accomplished with a rubber mat and rubber cement around the rear of the mat for a whole lot less money. The vendors hawk improved resale value of which I've never seen attained. Not saying they're a bad idea, I just don't see the great benefit advertised.

The question I seek an answer for is simply; why, or why not?

Looks like you only use the bed to walk to the toolbox. Guess the "Line-X" will keep you from slipping.......

I plated the floor of my Dodge with 1/4" aluminum cause you could see every xmember in the floor from using the truck as it was meant to be carrying pallets of automotive cores for rebuild.

The question I seek an answer for is simply; why, or why not?

Picture was taken after I got the B&W installed.. other than being dirty it looks the same a year later! Its had a Companion Hitch sitting on it, and had steel targets dropped on it. (AR500)

I agree 100%! When I bought my truck it already had the bedliner sprayer with Line-x. It holds up to everything I do with putting engine blocks and everything else in it. Line-x is the way to go!

I have linex, and have had two pallets slid in a few times and there is no damage one was pellets, 2,000 lbs, the other was bricks, I do not know the weight I was in town and a friend was getting loaded up and we found a broken spring so I agreed to take it home for him. I know it was heavy.
I haul mostly wood in the box, on pallets and i pull it out with a chain, or fire wood. no marks. I would definitely do it again if I buy a new one.
