Banks 6 gun question

Hi,i bought a used banks 6 gun with the speed loader for my 2004 duramax.I did not get the pyrometer with it,they just cut the wires at the end near the probe.I need to know what kind will work with the banks or will it work without the pyro.Thanks.

I would not run it without the pyrometer. I think a replacement part from Banks is under $60, IIRC. You can always try eBay since there are always odds and ends parts on there.

The Banks replacement (64507) is about $200. If I call Banks they are going to say you need their replacement. At that price, I would think it translates the info differently than a standard EGT probe.

That's for the new one with a weatherpak connector, right? The older one is the same part from someone else's kit. I don't remember which but I'll look on another forum to find out.

A little bit more info for you. I swapped out the 1/4 NPT thermocouple that came with my old Banks with the 1/8 NPT thermocouple from my old Edge and used the Edge piece with the Banks tuner and had no issues. I would think these parts are basically generic unless you are dealing with a connector issue.

Thank you for the info,i do not want to spend 200 dollars for a banks if another brand will work.Summit sells one for around 50 dollars but they do not know if it will work, the connectors look the same though.

I can get you a generic thermocouple cheap, but I can't promise it will work properly with your Banks setup.
