Since the factory 18" spare and tire is close enough in size to the factory 20" wheels tires, I don't care to change it!

The Current Truck (Oct-2013 to Present):
1999 (Early) F-350 Lariat, CCLB, SRW, Black/Tan

7.3L Powerstroke, 4R100, 4x4, 3.73, 37x13.50-18s, '05 Axle Swap, 6" Fabtech lift, GTP38 "D66" turbo upgrade, SCT 4-position chip with custom tuning by me, Straight Piped 4" down pipe through 5" dual stacks, N-Fab full length triple steps, Pro-Tech cab guard and tool box, louvered 5th wheel gate, Hella 500 Fog and Driving lamps, much more to come...
The one I'll miss, (Mar-2009 to Jan-2014):
2000 Excursion XLT 4x4

6.8L V-10, 4R100, 4.30, 285/75-18, 271whp / 388wtq
The one I won't, (Jul-2005 to Sep-2012):
2005 F-350 XLT, CCLB, SRW, 4x4 FX4

I carry a full size spare no matter which set of tire/wheel combo I am running. If I am withing 50 miles or so of home I usually dont cause I am needing my bed area for other stuff. But anytime I go on the road I throw the spare up in my bed.

if youve been stranded on the side of the road with a flat for more than 2-3 hours 800 miles from home you will have a spare under there!! one time in FL i had a tire go flat after running over a screw going through construction and i had a spare...however the previous owner for some reason took the key to the spare tire wench...so i couldnt get it down, and i had aftermarket rims so couldnt have gotten my wheels off anyways...so always carry a torque wrench, extra sockets and a spare.....and usually dont ever have any problems that way!

I have been stranded a few times....

If I am towing, I always carry one. I figure if I get a flat on the front, I will swap one from the rear until I get to a shop. When we hauled horses all over the country we carried 2 spares for the trailer. I went with Goodyear tires (G Rated) and never had another blowout on the trailers.
